Inventory System - The Basics


I created the inventory system for CATNAPPED. Following a YouTube tutorial quite closely, I managed to get the main structure of the inventory down. An on-screen inventory still needs to be added, however visual aspects of that needs to be realised first. 

I think parts of this system will be changed as the project moves forward, however as a base, I think this works well. The main areas that I think that will need to be adjusted later on is the crafting and how item requirements work. Item requirements are more of a simple thing, as all I would need is to have it so these requirements are tied into puzzles, i.e. the magnet on a string being required to complete the water pipes puzzle to collect the screw. While the "crafting" may need to have a full rework because it's more of a collection requirement, rather than a crafting system.
